GR-17 are the predecessors of the GR-18 model delivery robot. Due to design flaws, they are: too big (in their protective casing), and unable to hit the eject button to free themselves due to the fact that MAYA gave it telescope arms and not telescopic arms.
Many GR-17 can be found within the campaign, usually hidden out of the way, or inside enclosures. GR-18 can use its Tow Cable on them to set them free.

- It's as tall as two GR-18s, and as wide as two GR-18s.
- GR-17 has a secret description; "It was too big, and it failed." This can be seen in an unused tab called "Campaign" during "Building Levels with Sam!" Episode 1.
"So we made the GR-17. It was perfect in all respects, except that it was just too big and kept getting stuck in nooks and crannies."
